Career Counselling

The Career Counseling Cell of the college besides attending to the needs of the individual students conducts Orientation / Contact Programmes to disseminate information about academics and jobs. The cell advises and guides the students in the selection of proper courses both academic as well as professional and also informs them about the job prospects.


Residential Facilities

There is a hostel attached to the College with boarding facilities for about eighty students. A new hostel block having capacity to accommodate sixty students has been put to use from the previous academic year. The accommodation facilities are granted preferably to the outstation students, hailing from very distant places. Applications for admission to the hostel are to be addressed to the Principal within fifteen days after the start of an academic session. The hostel is managed by the Hostel Warden who should be approached by boarders in all matters relating to the hostel. The boarders shall have to pay a yearly hostel fee of Rs 1700/- in one installment which includes refundable security deposit of Rs 200/-. Mess charges will be extra. Mess charges shall be decided by the Hostel (Mess) committee of the college. The hostellers are required to follow the following rules and guidelines in letter and spirit.


  Every boarder will have to give an undertaking on an affidavit to the effect that he will abide by the hostel rules and regulations, failing which his admission is liable to be cancelled.

  Every boarder is required to join the hostel mess. Self cooking is not allowed.

  Fee for accommodation in the hostel is to be deposited in advance.

  Boarders shall not absent themselves from the hostel without prior permission.

  Every boarder will keep his room neat and clean.

  Every boarder has to be particular about his personal hygiene and shall be responsible for the care of the room and furniture allotted to him.

  No electrical appliances are allowed to be used.

  Attendance of the boarder will be marked daily at 7:00 pm

  The boarders will manage the mess by rotation.

  Visitors are allowed from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. No guests will be allowed without prior permission of the warden.

  Unauthorized absence from the Hostel, unruly behaviour with staff members or hostellers possession of banned items shall invoke strict disciplinary action from the college.


Green Clubs

The college has established a ‘Green Club’ with the objective of imbibing among the students the sense of protecting the environment by undertaking relevant activities in and outside the college campus.

Red Ribbon Club

The college Red Ribbon Club constituted in collaboration with the J&K State AIDS Prevention and Control Society undertakes activities for disseminating awareness related to AIDS.


The college has two NCC units (Naval and Army) and three NSS Units for developing sense of team spirit and training the students for social services like tree plantation drives, , holding of public awareness camps , blood donation camps etc.


The college has a well established Physical Education Department which manages various sports events. Adequate facilities are available for playing Table Tennis, Hockey, Badminton, Athletics, and Gymnastics. College has the distinction of having two cricket pitches of national repute and a football field. Physical Education Department conducts regular trekking, hiking, swimming and mountaineering expeditions. Besides, road and cycle races are a regular feature of the sports calendar. The College Sports Board organizes the various sports activity and annual college races.


There is a provision for awarding scholarships to the poor and deserving students. For this purpose, the college raises Student Aid Fund and the same is available for the benefit of the financially weak students. Students seeking this aid will have to apply for the same, supporting their applications with documentary evidence to the convenor of the relevant committee. Besides the above, the Department of Social Welfare J&K also provides aid to the students belonging to the socially weak sections of the society.

Medical Services

To provide the first aid and other primary medical facilities to the students, the college has a Medical Aid Centre manned by trained Medical Assistant.


The college has a well established canteen in the campus to cater the needs of the students and the staff. The canteen remains open from 10 am to 4 pm. There are separate rooms for students (male and female) as well as for the staff.
